Thanks! I'm also 49 and heat my home with wood exclusively and feel it more and more as time goes on! Bob and Walter kept in good shape chopping ice and tossing around birch bolts.
I would love to know more about these two. Veterans...what happened to the families and wives etc. Can't find anything online...thank you for a wonderful movie.
Their family's are still in Maine, and one grandson who has been in touch with me says he'd like to also "live the Life."

im a 36 yr old female who grew up living the same sort of life, and the men in this film are as familiar to me as my neighbors. i chose to build a tiny shack in the middle of the woods myself. no one understands why it is not important me to have electric lights and running water. it just makes sense to me. i'm currently trying to save up enough scratch for a well. wooo luxury!
