Bob and Walt Inspire
Anyone out there who has been inspired by Bob and Walt to make big changes in their lifestyle? If yes, the filmmakers would be really interested in meeting you. Stu
Here's an example of how a friend of mine was inspired by Bob Wagg's philosophy - so inspired he made a T-shirt with the caption "What Would Bob Wagg Do?"
Any person who enjoys the outdoors, as Bob and Walt did, I believe, has always considered doing what they did. By just going out and "matching witts with the elements." Just getting away from society for a while and appreciating the great outdoors and living life more simply. The film definitely stirs up those feelings every time I see it. Backwoods Home magazine is a great reference to that way of life, check it out!
i cant claim that bob and walt inspired me as much as they reminded me why i lug water, chop wood, and shovel a path to the outhouse. when people meet me and then learn how i live, they have a hard time reconciling my image with my life at home. i grew up this way and it is the only way that makes sense to me. everything they say are words i've said in one way or another...except the part about women not wearing perfume LOL i still manage to smell good when i go to town! haha
That's the plan with us. We would move our family to a remote location in a heartbeat. Already, we work a couple of teams of oxen for our firewood and other various farmwork. My husband and myself are in our midthirties. Our kids are 12, 4 & 2. This lifestyle has been our lifelong drea We have been planning on moving to the Maine mountains hopefully as soon as next spring. Yall are welcome to film us. We just are in need of a remote location to do so.
I write about bread and wood-fired bread ovens. Sourdough bread baking is my specialty. While the dough is rising I have time to make art, lots of art. Each winter I travel to Guatemala to build energy efficient stoves for the Mayas.

I love the t-shirt. Maybe on the back it could give several typical Bob Wagg responses.
